Infernax Review

Infernax is a combination of modern, brutally difficult games like Dark Souls. More importantly, it pays homage to many NES classics such as Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. The important thing to ask about retro-style indie games like Infernax is this. Did it highlight these inspirations well or was the game half-baked? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PS4 review code for Infernax.

Top 10 Games of 2021

At long last, it’s time to name my top ten games of 2021. I would like to note that all ten of these games, with one mild exception, were released for the first time on consoles in 2021. I would have loved to highlight the PS5 port of Final Fantasy VII Remake because that Yuffie DLC was a blast. Getting to play Scott Pilgrim again was also a treat, but restrictions are good. It helped me make a more fresh list.

Before you get to my top ten, I wanted to say a few things. A big thank you to all of the developers and publishers that worked with me this year. Shout out to my coworkers at TheGamer and Game Rant. Finally, HUUUUGE thanks to my viewers and readers out there too. Enjoy the video, and Happy New Year!

Ultra Age Review

Ultra Age is a mashup of several games and genres. At its core, it can best be described as an action roguelike RPG. Does it stand tall next to its contemporaries or should this game have stayed in the lab and aged a little more? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PS4 review code for Ultra Age, but I played it on PS5.

Golf Club: Wasteland Review

Golf Club: Wasteland is a surreal golf game that takes place in the post-apocalypse. Earth is dead, abandoned for the new frontier, Mars. People still go to Earth but seemingly only to play golf. Unlike most golf games out there this is more like a puzzle game crossed with a walking simulator. Does this combo create a fun experience, or like Earth, should this game be abandoned? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PS4 review code for Golf Club: Wasteland, but I played it on PS5.

Biomutant Review

When Biomutant was first teased in 2017, I was one hundred percent down. A Ratchet and Clank type of action platformer starring an adorable animal set in an apocalyptic zone like Fallout? Yes, please! After several delays, the game is finally out, and let’s just say it did not meet my expectations. Find out more in my video review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a review code for Biomutant.

Year in Gaming 2020: A Review

I covered a lot of games this year despite the world seemingly shutting down. Games were a godsend to all of us in 2020. To close out the year, I have a couple of links to share, and let’s start with some videos.

First, I posted my top ten games of 2020, followed by a tribute featuring over fifty games. I also linked some end of the year stuff I wrote for TheGamer and Game Rant. All in all, thanks to everyone who read my articles, watched my videos, and a big shout out to all of the developers and PR people that helped me out as well. Let’s all hope 2021 will be better.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon Review

Yakuza: Like A Dragon is the seventh main entry in the franchise. It’s also a reboot of sorts, which might be part of the reason why Sega took out the number. There’s a new star, Ichiban Kasuga, English voice acting for the first time since the PS2 original, and it is now a turn-based RPG. Were these changes enough to lure in newbies, or was this gamble a total failure? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a review code for Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Children of Morta: One Year Later

Children of Morta released over a year ago now. It hit the PC market in September 2019 and consoles the following month. Funnily enough, I put up my PS4 review on my birthday, October 14th.

Now, exactly one year later to that review, I’m doing it again. What has been added to the game over the past year, and does it hold up? Let’s find out. Enjoy!
