Trover Saves the Universe Review

Trover Saves the Universe is the next title from Squanch Games. That’s the offbeat video game company Justin Roiland, of Rick and Morty fame, created. However you feel about that show will shape your opinions on this. Do you find his oddball random humor enjoyable, or annoying? Find out where I land in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PSVR review code for Trover Saves the Universe.

Void Bastards Review

Void Bastards is an ingenious, beautiful remix on the roguelike and shooter genres that is dripping with style. It unfortunately gets one of those elements very wrong and keeps it from being something truly remarkable. Find out more in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received an Xbox One review code for Void Bastards.

inFAMOUS 10th Anniversary

Today marks the 10th anniversary for the inFAMOUS series. The first game debuted on May 26, 2009, for the PS3 via Sucker Punch. While it didn’t have any Marvel, or DC heroes, it was still an excellent superhero game in its own right. Let’s go through this short-lived series step by step in my accompanying video retrospective. Enjoy!

Slay the Spire Review

Slay the Spire originally launched for PC platforms back in January. This PS4 version marks its console debut with a Switch edition soon to follow. Does this collectible card game mix well with the roguelike genre? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PS4 review code for Slay the Spire.

Shakedown: Hawaii Review

Shakedown: Hawaii is the spiritual successor to Vblank Entertainment’s last game, Retro City Rampage. This game is also an open world sandbox in the vein of Grand Theft Auto except that we’re now in glorious 16-Bit era graphics. How does it compare to its predecessor and the franchise it is ultimately aping? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PS4 review code for Shakedown: Hawaii.

Golden Axe 30th Anniversary

This month marks the 30th anniversary of the Golden Axe series. The first game launched in arcades in May 1989 with a Sega Genesis port to follow in 1990 for North America. Truthfully that’s just one of many ports of this game as it released on a multitude of retro consoles back in the day along with being combined into various Sega collections.

It is one of their babies: an in-house brawler/hack and slash game that Sega could call their own. So sit back and relax as I take you through a quick, bizarre tour through Golden Axe. I’m not kidding. The release history is bonkers. Enjoy!
