The Shantae series began on the Game Boy Color in 2002. It has since been established as WayForward’s flagship series. They are all good, with the last coming out in 2016. However, with each new entry, there have been some feelings of diminishing returns. Does this new entry fix those problems, or does it meet somewhere in the middle? Let’s find out.

It’s been about a month since Final Fantasy VII Remake launched so I thought it was about high time I shared my thoughts on it. Well, in video form that is. I’ve already written a lot about it for TheGamer. I’ll share those links, along with the spoiler-filled podcast, below.
For those unaware, the original game is my favorite RPG of all time so needless to say I had high hopes for this. It was not the remake I thought it was going to be in that it isn’t much of a remake at all. It is a part of a larger hole. When that was first announced I was a little puzzled, but after finishing the game, I understand why it had to be like this.
In the video, my friend Lauren and I go through everything we liked and didn’t like regarding the combat, graphics, music, and everything in-between. This includes our thoughts and theories on the story and where the sequels might go. As a spoilercast, nothing is out of reach. Enjoy!
