JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword Review

JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword begins with the titular Jack picnicking with his girlfriend Nara before a giant hand takes her underground. Is this rescue mission worth it? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Onimusha: Warlords Review

Onimusha: Warlords originally launched for the PS2 on March 13, 2001 in North America. The game actually began as a Resident Evil spinoff called Sengoku Biohazard on PS1 before eventually being finalized on PS2. History aside, does this samurai themed survival horror game hold up eighteen years later? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Super Smash Bros. 20th Anniversary

Today marks the 20th anniversary of Super Smash Bros. The original game launched for the Nintendo 64 on January 21, 1999 in Japan and a few months later in April for North America. As much as I’d love to talk about this series, especially since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is fantastic, I thought it would be more fun to look at all of the copycats. Here is the top ten Super Smash Bros. clones. Enjoy!

YIIK: A Postmodern RPG Review

YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is a turn-based RPG that tries to dial things back to the classic era of the genre. It looks like a PlayStation sequel to EarthBound in a way. I know that probably sounds amazing, but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Find out why in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a PS4 review code for YIIK: A Postmodern RPG.

Mega Man X 25th Anniversary

This month marks the 25th anniversary of Mega Man X. It was released in Japan on December 17, 1993 for the Super Famicom. A month later it was ported to North America for the SNES so that’s where it really counts for me. Whether you want to call 2019 the 26th, or the 25th anniversary, I don’t care. I just want to talk about one of favorite games of all time and its legacy. For the purposes of this retrospective I played through all eight main entries. Enjoy!

Double Cross Review

Double Cross is the next game from the team that made Runbow. It’s a weird mishmash of genres including puzzle platforming, 2D action, and solving cases all while trying to protect the multiverse. Does this hybrid blend well? Find out in my review. Enjoy!

Special Notes: I received a Nintendo Switch review code for Double Cross.
